When they moved to 33 E. Rees, Fond du Lac, WI. During allthis time, Amanda was busy home-making, though she also worked at theHob-Nob for 3 years from 1955-1958. She always baked her own bread anddid home-canning. Along with his farm chores, Otto has preformed manycommunity services. He has been a strong Republican all his life, andwas a delegate to 3 State conventions. 1. Milwaukee, 2-Baraboo and 3-Wausau, all prior to retirement from farming. During his farming,he wassect. St. Paul's Luth. Congregation Forest for 9 years, and also memberof Forest Cemetery Assoc. for 26 years following it's inc. in 1929. Heresigned this position due to failing health. Appointed 1st aide supervisor to Town Board of Empire, and ran unopposedfrom 1936-1952, when he retired. Otto was a carpenter for 10 years afterfarming, and during all this time, he was one of the deer hunting gangwho began hunting in 1935 at the cabin of Mike Wetter at Smith Lake nearHayward, WI. The original gang was joined by some wives in 1936,including Otto's wife. Some of the men were Clem Krug, Oscar Reitz, BillKrug, and also Erv Knutson, Herman Beltz, Ernie & Carl Gantner, BobKrug, and Martin & Rudolph W. Reitz. OBITUARY-Commonwealth Reporter, Fond du Lac, WI - Dated 5-5-1969 OTTO KRUG 75, EXPIRES; SERVICE SET Otto L. Krug, 75, of 33 E. Rees St., died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday followinga lenghty illness. He was born April 29, 1894, in the Town of Empire, ason of George and Katherine Reitz Krug. He married Amanda Seibel onApril 11, 1917. They celebrated thier golden anniversary in 1967. Mr.Krug farmed in the Town of Empire, retiring in 1945. He moved to Fond duLac in 1958 and worked as a carpenter. He served on the town board ofthe Town of Empire for 19 years and on the Forest Cemetery Board for 20years. He was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Town ofForest. Surviving are his widow; two sons, Carlton of Route 4 and Edgarof Route 1, Calvary; one daughter, Mrs. William Kramer of Route 1; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Oscar Seibel ofNorth Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by two brothers and twosisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Pauls LutheranChurch, town of FOrest, with Pastor Alvin Spaude officiating. Burial willbe in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today until noonTuesday at Bidlingmaier Funeral Home and at the church from 1 p.m.Tuesday until the time of services.
