1 Details: Jornt-Becker Robert F. Becker claimed Miss Juanita Marie Jornt as his bride in a ceremony Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Louis E. Ulrich Jr. officiated at 2:30 p.m. for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Frank Jornt, 3911 6th Ave., and the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Becker, 7830 17th Ave. The bride's floor-length gown of silk organza featured short sleeves, Sabrina neckline and a bouffant skirt with a bustle ending in a chapel train. A pearl and tulle crown held her elbow-length veil. Her bouquet was a cascade of roses and ivy. Miss Gretchen Becker, sister of the bridegroom, was the maid of honor in a pink gown. Brides-maids Miss Jeanne Raddatz and Miss Rachel Jornt, sister of the bride, wore aqua dresses. Taffeta cummerbunds and bustle-like bows detailed their organza gowns. They wore matching lace picture hats trimmed with flowers and carried white baskets of matching flowers. Flower girl Joan Marie Canfield, niece of the bride, wore an ensemble similar to that of the maid of honor. Kenneth Etzelmueller was the best man. Anthony Bisciglia and G. Peter Becker, the bride-groom's brother, were groomsmen. Seating guests were Steven Schmelling and Erroll Schmelling, cousins of the bridegroom. A reception for 600 guests was held at the Eagles Club at 6:30 p.m. The Misses Marjorie Anderson, Margaret Reuter and Theodora Hepp and Mrs. Richard Krause poured. After a trip to Niagra Falls, Washington, D.C., and New York, the couple will be at home at 3911 16th Ave. In September they will move to Madison where Mr. Becker will complete hiS senior year at the University. The bride was formerly employed as a secretary at American Motors. Her bridegroom is associated with the Becker Awning and Shade Company. Clipped from Kenosha Evening News July 13, 1959 ---------- Robert F. Becker 1938 - 2012 Robert F. Becker, 74, of Bristol, formerly of Kenosha, died on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Hospice House, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Kenosha on Aug. 22, 1938, he was the son of the late George W. and Beatrice (Schmelling) Becker. He was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School and received his Bachelors Degree in 1960 from U.W.-Madison. On July 11, 1959 at Grace Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to Juanita Jornt. For over 40 years, Bobs career was with the family business, Becker Flooring, Awning and Shade Company. In 1973, Bob and Juanita purchased the business from Bobs parents. Bob retired Jan. 1, 2000. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He taught Sunday school, and was on their finance committee and church council. Bob was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing softball, basketball and volleyball, as well as bicycling. Bob enjoyed annual deer hunting trips and fishing, boating, swimming and water skiing at their Lake Shangrila cottage. He liked to cheer on the Brewers, Badgers and Packers and was a Packers season ticket holder since 1975. Bob was a gifted woodworker and enjoyed making birdhouses for many friends and family. Bob will be remembered by his loving wife of 53 years, Juanita; his three children, Cathleen (Ibrahim) Basaran of Toronto, Canada, Timothy (Nita) Becker and Susan (Mark) Knapp, both of Kenosha; his brother, George Peter (Linda) Becker of Palatine, IL; his sister, Betty Ann (Chris) Banner of Manhattan, KS; and his seven grandchildren, Maritza (nee Basaran) Horsley and James Basaran, George and Angela Becker and Sara, Rebecca and Daniel Knapp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gretchen Hartenstein. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2006 60th Street. Private interment will take place in Green Ridge Cemetery. A visitation for Bob will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home and at the church on Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
