1 Details: John H. Swartz John H Swartz, 52; Irving, 'Texas, formerly of Kenosha, died Monday at the Irvng Community Hospital in Irving. He was. born on April 1, 1927, in Kenosha, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Mildred)'Swarttz. He Had been a resident of Irving for the past eight years and was employed in the sales department of the 3M Company in Dallas, Texas: for two years. He was an vArmv veteran of World War II, He was a member of the Woodhaven tiresbyterian Church in Irvjng. Surviving are his wife; Alice, his mother bf Wilmot; two sons John S., McAllen, Texas, and Chuck, Arling Ion, Texas, a daughter, Anne Swartz, Irving; and two brothers Paul, Wilmot, and Don, San Diego, Calif. He was preceded 'in death by his father, J? Manitowoc Girl -s ' J-rv - Saturday Bride OfJohnSwartz Miss Alice Mittelstaedt Manitowoc became the bride of John Henry Swartz son of -Mr and Mrs Roy Swartz Wilmot last Saturday at the First 'Lutheran church in Manitowoc' The Rev Roland Schwandt performed the ceremony The bride ‘daughter of Mr end Mrs Otto Mittelstaedt Manitowoc was given la marriage by 'her father"-Her ivory duchess satin gown had net yoke outlined with two fblds of satin forming an off-toe-shoulder effect - The full -skirt swept into-a long circular train Her pure silk French' illusion veil had been worn by her sister' Mrs Fred Borcherdt Jr at her wedding The two-tier veil was held in place by a braid of satin entwined with : seed pearls She carried bouquet of fiuers d’amous and lilies of the valley centered with white orchid "4 -' The bride’s sister Mrs Fred Borcherdt Jr Manitowoc was matron of honor in a fern green starched marquisette gown over a ' taffeta skirt and lace bodice She carried talisman roses and yellow pompons and wore a cluster of talisman roses in her hair Miss Dixie Fulton and Miss Phyllis Hammond Manitowoc were bridesmaids in ensembles similar to that of the matron of honor Bert man was Paul Swartz Wilmot to bridegroom’s brother Fre Borcherdt Jr and Mark L Hooper Jr both of Manitowoc ushered A rehearsal dinner was given by Mr and Mrs Borcherdt Frtday evening at the Hotel Manitowoc and a reception at the Lakeside Country club followed the ceremony The cduple left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of toe state university where she was affiliated with Alpha XI Delta sorority and he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity of which he was president He is in the army reserves and will report for active duty at Fort Lewis Wash Oct 2 ago CLIPPED FROM Kenosha News Kenosha, Wisconsin 26 Sep 1950, Tue • Page 4
