LaFayette Daily Courier, 21 april 1905: "Theodore Wahl passed quietly away at 12:00 this afternoon at the family residense at 1421 south street. He has been sick for the past 18 months and his death did not come as a supprise to relatives and friends. His demise is attibuted to a complication of diseases. Mr Wahl was one of the best known and highly esteemed German citizen in LaFayette. He was born in Aschendorf, Germany August 18, 1839 and came to LaFayette in 1869. He was for many years engaged in the brick contracting business in the city and was quite successfull. Mr. Wahl was honest in all his dealings with his fellow man and was possessed of a splendid character. He was a man of deep religious convictions and was ready at all times to render assistance to those in need. He was a member of the St. Joseph society and also the St. Boniface church society. His wife died 18 months ago. A son, Anthony B. Wahl of this city survives. He also leaves one brother Anthony Wahl of Cincinnati and 2 brothers and 1 sister in Germany. The funeral will be conducted in the St. Boniface church on thursday morning at 9 o clock and internment will be made at St. joseph cemetery".
