Douglas was born at 400 Washington Ave. in Waco,McLennanCo.,Texas on May 1,1918. He was moved by his parents toRunnlesCo. to his Grandfather Watson farm in 1920 . Startedschool atAndrew Poe Elem . School in Winters in Sept 1925. OnJuly 4, 1930moved with his family to Dallas, Texas and in Sept.of that yearentered 4th grade at Stehpen F. Austin Elem. in EastDallas. Hestarted in 1930 age 12 w orking a newspaper route forthe thenDallas Dispatch now the Dallas Times Hearld. Hegraduated 7thgrade in May of 1935 and started working asflooring carpenterwith a flooring and decking contractor Guellit & Smith. DuringWW2 worked until November 1942. Hereturned to Dallas and drovepackage delivery service fordepartment stores until March 41946 and quit the packagedelivery service and starte d workingagain as a carpenter andlater as a a drywall contractor untilApril of 1983 when heretired . He passed on athome on February 8, 2004.
