Tatum More about William Tatom was drafted as a private into the company commanded by Capt. Drury Adkins, in the First Regiment of the TN Militia commanded by Col. C. Napier [ War of 1812 ] His discharge paper states: " I do certify that William Tatom a private in my company of Militia has served on an expedition against the Creek Indians under the command of Major General Jackson three months and twenty - seven days and is hereby honourably discharged, May 10th 1814, [ signed by Drury Adkins, Captain and others unreadable ] According to the Widow's statement, following William Tatom's discharge from TN Militia the family lived in Dickson Co, for 2 years then Hickman Co, TN. for about 14 years, and then until William's death in Fayette Co, TN. At time of pension application [ 1878 ] the widow lived at Hickory Wythe, Fayette Co, TN.
