Chester H. KUHN

Birth: Sep. 20, 1906 Finton Cambria County Pennsylvania, USA Death: Nov. 6, 1985 Altoona Blair County Pennsylvania, USA Chester was the husband of Elsie (McCartney) Kuhn 1912-1977 He was the son of Harry A Kuhn and Anna (Simmers) Kuhn CHESTER H. KUHN Mr. Kuhn, 79, of Glasgow died at 1:25 a.m. today, Nov. 6, 1985, in Altoona Hospital. Mr. Kuhn retired as a coalminer from the Forks Coal Mine, Blandburg. He was also employed by the Department of Forest and Water for eight years as forest fire inspector and 30 years as forest fire warden. He was a gravedigger for Pleasant Hill Cemetery for 20 years. He was also a past Glasgow postmaster. He was born Sept. 20, 1906, in Flinton RD, the son of Harry and Annie (Simmers) Kuhn, and Sept. 30, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., married Elsie M. McCartney, who died April 7, 1977. Surviving are two daughters: Janet C. Davis of Lanham, Md., and Joan S. Dotts of Irvona; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Surviving are two sisters and a brother: Madeline Simmers of Coalport, Linda Lender of Camp Hill and Carey of Utahville. Mr. Kuhn attended the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Roseland. He was a member of the Glendale Pontoon Association and a past member of the Reade Township Democratic Committee. Friends will be received from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the Plass-McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. KUHN -- Services for Chester H. Kuhn of Glasgow will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Plass-McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, by the Rev. William L. Kemp. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. Friends will be received from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home.
