Andrew SELL

Birth: Dec. 15, 1824 Adams County Pennsylvania, USA Death: Jun. 11, 1886 Adams County Pennsylvania, USA Andrew Sell was born in Union Township, Adams County, PA. He migrated to Stark Co., Ohio and married (1) Margaret Spangler in 1847 there. He was a farmer. They had a son, Hiram, born in 1849. Margaret died in 1850. Andrew returned to Pennsylvania and married (2) Isabella Gitt in 1854. He lived on the 16 acre farm that is now the Midway Country Store, midway between Hanover and Littlestown.He was drafted during the Civil War twice. The first time he hired a substitute, who was subsequently killed. Andrew was a trustee at Christ Church. He was killed at a barn raising for George Unger. Andrew and Isabella had four children: Lucetta Simpson, Samuel, Alverta and David.
