John HECKMAN

Published in The Reading Eagle - Tuesday, February 8, 2000.:John Heckman, 91, died Monday at 4:15 a.m. in his residence at 5710 Mount Pleasant Road, Penn Township.He was the husband of Florence M. (Schlappich) Heckman. Born in Upp Tulpehocken Township, he was a son of the late James and Katie (Klopp) Heckman. Heckman was employed by Beryllium Corp., Tuckerton, retiring in 1965. He was a member of Bern United Church of Christ, Bern Township. Heckman is also survived by a daughter, Dolores R. (Heckman) Hickernell, Trout Run, Lycoming County; and five sons: John A., Mohrsville; Charles D., Lawrence S.C.; Gerald L., Jacksonville, Fla.; James S., Auburn, Schuylkill County; and Michael K., Rehrersburg. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Heckman Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Bern Cemetery, Bern Township. The Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bervnille, is in charge of arragements.
