Mrs. Diedrich Hinkeldey Passes Away at Home of Her Son Friday, July 27

Mrs. Marie Margaretha Hinkeldey who had been sick for the past five months passed away last week Friday morning. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich Sump and was born on the 11 of October in Heithuesen,Germany. At this place she was baptized and confirmed. In the year 1854she was married to Mr. Dietrich Hinkeldey. They remained in Germany for eighteen years after their marriage and then came over to this country and settled Madison, Illinois. After three years they moved to Creton, Nebraska, and in the same year they came to Iowa where they first settled at Clarinda in 1876 and in the year 1883 they came to this locality. In 1910 her husband died and since that time she has lived with herson Herman Hinkeldey. There remain to mourn her death six children, thirty-four grandchildren and five great grandchildren, besides her many friends. Her age was eighty-four years, nine months and sixteen days.
