Catherine Sehler (aka Cadarina Schlearn) was born on July 12, 1747 in Shenandoah County, Virginia to Johannes Schlern and Margaretha Hausers. Her mother and father both had immigrated from Germany. Catherine married Michael Zirkle in 1760 when she was 13 and he was 24. Catherine and Michael were farmers at the family homestead located east of Forestville, Virginia. Catherine died in 1830 at the age of 83. Aufschrift auf ihrem Grabstein: "Hier Ruht Cadarina Zercel Sie Ward Gebohren Juli Us Den 12 Im Jahr Christi 1747 Und Gestorben November Den 16 1830 Ald 83 Jah 4 Monat 4 Da."
