Mrs. Lanice R. Gardner, Lebanon, a Sweet Home Schools physical education teacher, died Wednesday in a Salem hospital apparently of a stroke. She was 43. A resident of 650 Wagon Wheel Drive, Mrs. Gardner was a native of Montana. Following graduation from Montana State University in 1951 she came to Sutherlin as a physical education instructor. She also taught in Arlington, Philomath and Lebanon before beginning her teaching assignment at Sweet Home in 1964. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, an active 4H leader and a member of Arlington Eastern Star. Surviving besides widower Ralph; daughters Erika, Melanie, Wendy, Monica, and Vanessa, all at home; foster son Jerry Hubert, Lebanon; her parents Mr. & Mrs. Avery Roser, Sequim, Wash; sisters Trilby McCullough, Folsom, Calif; and Arla Fowler, Bellingham, Wash. Services were Monday at Huston Mortuary, the Rev. Ralph Fothergill officiated. Interment at Belcrest Cemetery, Salem. The family suggests contributions to a memorial fund at First United Methodist Church, Lebanon. Sie wurde neben ihrem Ehemann im Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem im Maron County, Oregon beigesetzt.
