George William ROSER

George W. Roser Sr., 80, of Fairview Twp., died 6:03 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Louise (Bupp) Roser with whom he celebrated a 59th wedding anniversary on July 25th. The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Burial will be in St. Jacob's Union Cemetery, York New Salem. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. James M. Emerick, pastor, of St. Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Roser was born November 19, 1922, in York. He was the son of the late Ray and Myrtle Knisely Roser. He retired in 1981 as a heavy equipment operator through the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 after 31 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Roser is survived by three sons, George W. Roser, Jr. of York, Jeffrey R. Roser of York Haven, Troy A. Roser of Lewisberry; four grandchildren, Teresa Gilchrist, Bradley Roser, Jennifer Roser, and Jessica Roser; three great-grandchildren Joshua Strayer, Scott Strayer and Tabitha Roser; a brother, Charles Roser of Bethesda, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, E. Earl Roser and a sister, Jane Roser. Published in York Daily Record & York Dispatch on January 28, 2003
