York Daily Record (PA) - Saturday, October 2, 2004: Garry E. "Boog" Zirkle, 42, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at Laurel Regional Hospital in Prince George's County Maryland. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory Inc, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be Bishop Patrick Clady of Hunterstown Church of God in Gettysburg. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mr. Zirkle was born on December 9, 1961 in York. He was the son of the late Naomi R. (Chrismore) and Floyd G. Zirkle Sr. He was employed at Johnston Construction Company in Dover where he worked as a Foreman for the past three years. He was previously employed at United Defense for 15 years as a Welder. He was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post #791, Vigilant Club of York and attended Dover High School. "Boog" also volunteered his time to community youth sports programs, he formerly coached the Tri-Town youth football team and the Weiglestown youth baseball team. Garry is survived by two sons, Robert E. and Kainan S. Zirkle, both of Dover; one granddaughter, Elyce M. Zirkle; four brothers, Floyd G. Zirkle, Jr, of North East, Md., Ronald L. Zirkle of East Berlin, and Tommie R. and Clifton E. Zirkle, both of Dover; one sister, Diane Dravk of York; former wife, Susan Y. (Wilhelm) Zirkle of Dover; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald E. Zirkle; and two sisters, Rae Ann Zirkle and Baby girl Zirkle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, 400 Stillmeadow Lane, York, PA 17404; or Hunterstown Church of God, 895 Coleman Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
