Notes for this person
Ellis Island Records shows she came with brother Rudolf, departed from Hamburg, Germany, arrriving September 5, 1922. Both resided in Karft, Germany, prior to departure. At time of arrival, she was age 24 (perhaps incorrect age, see 1930 Census) and he was 25. Ship was Mount Clinton. Manifesto shows she was born in Sapust, Poland.
1930 Federal Census gives age as 37, rented on 820 Webster St, Chicago for $280/mo. Married Otto at age 32, place of birth Poland (same for parents), spoke German when came to USA, immigrated in 1923, not naturalized yet, occupation: keeper of a rooming house. Also living there were dau. Edna, siblings Albert, Reinholz (Reinholdt) and Lena, and niece Elsie (Albert's dau. age 2 and 8 mo.). Many lodgers, one is Henry Reschke.
Helen died of leukemia at age of 40. Helen stayed with Adolf and Olga Schulz. The Nichols (of Poland) raised Adolf Schulz and Juliane [August Heinrich Reschke]. (Source: Herb Reschke, March 2004)
