Jacob Øhenschlæger kom den 20.maj 1761 til kolonien i Frederikshåb i Randbøl sogn. Han har i 1763 gård nr.6 ,overtaget fra konens bror. Jacobs fæstebrev er udstedt d. 31 Dec. 1764. Bebor ved indberetninger om koloniens tilstand i 1766 , nu gård nr. 8 i Frederikshåb. I 1775 har Jacob 6 drenge og 2 piger. Ved indberetninger i 1779 oplyses at gården er flyttet ud i sine marker, og Jacob bor nu i udflytterbyen Hofmansfeld. Den 22. Sep. 1790 overlader Jacob gården i Hofmansfeld

til svigersønnen Lauritz Jacobsen af Liegaard.
