Johan Jacob får fæstekontrakt 12. Dec. 1765, står som bebor gård nr. 7 i Frederikshåb i 1766 ,men ved indberetninger om beboerne i Randbøl til Koldinghus amt d.7.Feb.1777, står at han først i året 1775 er konfirmeret, og derfor drives går

den endnu af hans far Jacob Øhlenschlæger.

Det fremgår af de årlige indberetninger fra 1775 at Johan Jacob er ugift. Gården er i 1779 flyttet ud i sine marker og nævnes udflytterbyen Hofmansfeld.

Efter giftermålet i 1782 bliver gården i Hofmansfeld adskilt fra faderens.

I indberetningen fra 1783 nævnes, at Johan Jacob Øhlenschlæger har en karl og en pige i sin tjeneste.

Ved folketællingen i 1834 er Johan Jacob enkemand og bor på aftægt i Gadbjerg hos datteren Engel.
