MRS. HENDERSON 77, OF WILTON, DIES IN SLEEP
Long-Time Resident ofCommunity Succumbs to Heart Disease.
Wilton, Ia., April 8---Mrs. Mary Henderson, a resident of this
community since her childhood, was found dead in her bedthis morning,
several hours after she had succumbed to an attack of heart disease,
from which she had been suffering the last two years.
Mrs. Henderson, who was formerly Mary Moriarity, was born Nov. 10,
1851, in Bellows Falls, Vt.,her parents coming to this community when
she was a girl. Her marriage to the late Charles Henderson took place
in 1869 and they spent their married lifein the Wilton and Moscow
communities. Their golden wedding anniversary was celebrated in 1919.
Mr. Henderson preceded his wife in death a year and a half.
Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. E.T. Holland, Mora, Minn., Mrs.
J.J. Hoskins, Mrs. E.C. Whitmer and Mrs. H.G. Nicolaus of this place;
and three sons,Charles F., Wilton, Dr. M.L., Milwaukee and L.R.,
Muscatine. A brother, JudgeMorris Moriarity, Yellville, Ark., and 13
grandchildren also survive.
She had been a lifelong member of the Methodist church.
Mrs. Henderson had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs.
Hoskins, in recent months and last night when she retired appeared to be
in her usual health. She was dead when her daughter called her this
morning and physicians said she had evidently died shortly after
retiring.
This obituary was found in "THE DAVENPORT DEMOCRAT AND LEADER" , dated
April 8, 1929.
