Notes for this person
Nachrichten: Margaret had TB and was sent to a TB asylum in Colorado Springs. She was accompanied by Mary Ann Forster to help her. Mary Ann returned home and Margaret did later as well but died in Andale from TB.From Jeanne Raple:Your grandmother may have accompanied one of my great aunts to the TB asylum in Colorado. My grandfather's sister Margaret Raple who married Phillip Merrill went to Colorado and died in Colorado of TB. I think her husband died there also. My grandfather and his wife took in their three children after the parents died, so my grandparents raised 11 children. My dad said Wisconsin was big on dairy farming and the people got TB from the cows. That's why they moved to Kansas, to get away from the TB.
