The attendance was made up of more than 35 wagons with more than 250 people from the city and country, who in this way laid their sympathies on the death knell on this day. The deceased suffered a long time, reached the age of 65 years, and is countedas one of the earliest citizens of New Ulm, in which her surviving husband Friedrich Behnke had built one of the first houses. She is survived by a large number of descendants and grandchildren, whichbelong to Misters H. and A. Behnke, Fred Struckmann and Christian Prignitz. (New Ulm newspaper post 25 September 1869) |
