Clara HERRING

Clara McClure was born on January 9, 1904 in Murphysboro, Illinois, the daughter of John and Carrie (Imhoff) Herring. One sister preceded her in death. She married Charles McClure; he preceded her in death. Survivors include three children, Sally Pitts of Streator, Illinois, Dorothy Borneman of Oconto, Wisconsin, and Robert McClure of Crown Point, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Seth McClure, and one daughter, Chona Lyerla. Mrs. McClure worked at the former Brown Shoe Company for 35 years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Murphysboro Senior Citizens, a past president of the VFW Auxiliary Post 7190 and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 127. Mrs. McClure died at the age of 88 at her daughter's home in Oconto, Wisconsin.
