He came from Fredericksbur, Spotsylvania County, VA, with his two brothers, John and James in 1803, and appears to have gone to Mecklenburg County, NC, Later in 1811 he, with his brother John and James, went to Franklin County, TN. He married, January 8, 1803 in Mecklenburg County, NC (marriage license on record there) to Mary Stampier Cook. Miss Cook may have been the daughter of Robert Cook, a North Carolina Revolutionary War veteran.
